From its site close to the M1 motorway just north of London,
Millbrook provides virtually every test and validation service
necessary for the development and homologation of cars,
components, commercial and military vehicles as well as
specialist applications such as aircraft and marine interiors.
It has established a world-wide reputation for confidentiality,
service and competitiveness, using its combination of tracks and
laboratories to help its clients improve almost every aspect of
their vehicle's performance.
For DVD™, Millbrook is providing specialist events management
expertise and exhibition facilities, complemented by helicopter
access, a very high level of security and use of track
facilities that simulate virtually every terrain worldwide. In
every respect, it is the ideal venue.
In the mid 1960s, General Motors began the search for the ideal
location to build a new proving ground. Prerequisites were that
it should provide both large flat areas and substantial hills
that could be calibrated to provide tough yet consistent
simulation of usage patterns in any territory worldwide.
Having found a site close to the small English village of
Millbrook, they applied their 50 years experience operating
similar facilities in the US to design and build
one of the finest proving grounds in Europe.
Today, Millbrook is a private company, investing in the latest
test and development technologies and is now widely considered
to be Europe's leading, commercially available vehicle test and
development centre for almost every type of vehicle. |
