DS&TE IPT, renamed from Workshop Support Services and Test and Measurement Group in April 2008, is responsible for the Deployable Repair Capability of each of the three Services as well as the Tri-Service provision of all test and measurement equipment. It also has responsibility for Defence Railway Equipment.
DS&TE IPT supplies the tools, repair systems and test equipment which allows the Armed Forces’ personnel to diagnose, inspect, maintain, calibrate and repair their equipment.
DS&TE IPT forward programme of projects include:
- The Test Equipment Initiative
- The Deployable Machine Shop (DMS)
- The Deployable Engineer Workshop (DEW)
- Digital Diagnosis and Repair (DDR) Capability
- European Railway Security Capability (ERSC)
- The Combined Instrument Repair Facility

- Physical, Optical, Electrical and Electronic Equipment testing
- Calibration
- Railway Systems and Permanent Way repair
- Automotive testing and repair
- Deployable Automatic Test Equipment (ATE)

- Run-Flat Tyre systems
- Reconfigurable open-architecture electronic test equipment
